Ofcourse you get attention from people when you’re in a band especially when it’s a half decent one. But we haven’t been that wild in that area. We always had too much fun between ourselves that we didn’t need too many people joining in, so we always been quite to ourselves. Yes we like a drink, more then one. Some of the band members like some speed or whatever once and again, but I always had the policy to go to work (= on stage) sober, because people pay money to see us and when you’re too drunk or high you can’t deliver quality. When we were on tour I never drank anything before a show, these days maybe one or two beers, but that’s it. I take my audience to seriously to piss them off with a crap show. Rock & Roll has always been there. I think we’re one of the few bands that are still loyal to their roots (rocka or whateverkindabilly) and although we always try to sound different on each album, you can always hear back the Batmo-roots.

1e) You’ve been around for more than 20 years now. Would you say, you’re a bit winded down today, more relaxed and moderate in a way? Or is the Batmobile running with undiminished high speed, not only musically?

Yes 25 even. And I do have to say that the things we do are more relaxed then 10 or 20 years ago. Probably because we don’t need to make our living from it anymore (we did that for about 15 years) there’s no pressure whatsoever. So we only do the things the three of us want to do and that works very well for us now. We were on a break for a few years from 2000-2003 and it became very clear that music was much too much fun to abandon!

2a) Compared to Bands like Demented Are Go your artworks and stage appearance was always rather cultivated. The more surprising was the back-coverartwork of “Hard Hammer Hits”… (at least the vinyl I have in my collection). Was this an attempt to test reactions and show the world once again, that Batmobile is unpredictable?

I guess it was. I think back in the days among other things we were known for our creative and different artwork, which for me makes an album more interesting as well. The idea for the ‚backside’ of Hammer Hits was just too afwul to not do. I still think it’s pretty hilarious even though we had to make a censored version because there were countries (like Japan) that we couldn’t sell the original to

2c) “Bail Was Set At 6.000.000 $” – what crime could Batmobile be judged for?;-)

Jailbait ofcourse!
